Changelings cannot actually transform. Changelings are just beings that have the ability to sense alternate versions of themselves across the infinite multiverse coupled with the ability to transport there. When they need to transform they find an alternate self in another timeline who happens to be in the exact same circumstances, only they exist in the form they desire to transform into. Simultaneously, that alternate changeling desires to take their form as well. With infinite timelines this very specific scenario is guarenteed to always occur. Then they transport themselves to eachothers timelines and carry out eachothers tasks as a "transformed" version of themselves. When they are finished they swap back to their original multiverse. This way there are no size limitations, or contorting of internal anatomy problems. No actual transfiguring has occurred. Plus the transformed body is real in every sense and cannot be magically detected as a fake. Also I like the idea that some changelings give up any sense of grounded reality and live their lives hopping from random universe to random universe with no care of returning "home."
