Unlike popular belief, the chaos spawn bits don't really make for good parts to convert chaos infantry because they're way too large for the normal infantry models.

To build a healthy amount of bits for human-sized conversions you have to look elsewhere, for example pink horrors, plaguebearers and crypt ghouls can be easily torn apart for weird or multiple limbs and body parts (as well as tails, tentacles and horns) and scrapping chaos armour to integrate those elements into a chaos warrior is easy (especially the less static looking aos ones or the more modular and less recognisable blood warriors)
