Picked up some old WDs and got one that has the Kislev releases in it. I guess there should be a focus on these units, with a Boyar on bear, and Griffon Legion should maybe get a dual kit though with more stand out decoration since they play a big role in the Great War.

Historically, yes. You run lots of combat units with combat characters with variation being in the units.
Wolves riding Wolves
Wolf men
Wolf terminators

Which is better between:

7 Chaos Knights, Lances, Khorne and Icon of Darkness for -1 to hit with shooting

Or

6 Chosen Knights with full plate and Lances

Or

5 Chosen Knights with Lances, Full Plate, Khorne and full command

All are around 230 to 250 points.

It makes a difference as your math (which was wrong at 1 wound its 1.11 at 10 shot) is now 2.25 wounds avg, then armor bane gets it to just under 2.5. Making it effectively the same vs 5+ armor on average rolls as armor bane.
Then at short range it's a like .1 more wounds factoring in armor bane so your still not seeing more damage on average.
In short armorbane is likely the better option with consistent damage even into 5+ armor. And multiple shot more swingy good or bad which usually means bad. Which would have been better to explain to>>95989199 instead of being a needlessly aggressive (and off) dick for I assume him pointing out the math didn't compare directly.

They're not. Quick history of kislev's ethnicities:
>WFRP 1e: Gospodars are slav peasants, Ungols are vaguely asiatic steppe invaders who took over (like real life). I think the Norse were actually the ruling caste.
>6e: It gets flipped around for some bizarre reason. Ungols are the nomadic native(debateable) people who are still somewhat asiatic, Gospodars came from the east but are strangely more sedentary and slavic.
Aesthetically Ungols draw on both Mongol and Cossack imagery.

If you have a character with laurels of victory in a challenge, would overkill points still be capped out at +5 res, or would you be able to exceed the normal overkill bonus? To add to this, despite evidence that the Ungols have been in Kislev since Sigmar's time at least, there's also a lot of material that shows them living further east as well. The 4th edition Empire book (which is probably in accordance with the WFRP 1e stuff says that they live in the 'Zaborota' or Far Lands beyond the World's Edge Mountains. The new TOW map has a label for the Ungols to the east too. I assume GW is going to rewrite the relationship between the Gospodar and Ungols yet again to account for the new/resurrected 'Kislevite Far East'. Which is actually really cool. Or would be if I trusted GW's judgement.

Stone throwers aren't universally bad. Off the top of my head, the dwarf one is supposed to be slightly better into monsters than their cannon. The Empire and Skaven ones can put in work if combo'd with the a toughness debuff spell. Doom divers are also good. Screaming skulls are important for certain TK builds. Hellcannons just suck because they are over twice the points, a 3" template, and has a chance to misfire before you even shoot it each turn.

Unlike popular belief, the chaos spawn bits don't really make for good parts to convert chaos infantry because they're way too large for the normal infantry models.

To build a healthy amount of bits for human-sized conversions you have to look elsewhere, for example pink horrors, plaguebearers and crypt ghouls can be easily torn apart for weird or multiple limbs and body parts (as well as tails, tentacles and horns) and scrapping chaos armour to integrate those elements into a chaos warrior is easy (especially the less static looking aos ones or the more modular and less recognisable blood warriors)

Probably, especially if that's the only part of the army with such an element or it's not some odd thing one dude in the unit has as an easter egg.

For example if your army has a sizeable force of chaos dwarfs or a soulgrinder, then perhaps some cyberforsaken work, or skaven allies, with the forsaken imagined as skryre-augmented lobotomised purchases.
But aside from those two edge cases even khornate mechanical constructs and warmachine try to blend the mechanical element with demonic flesh or hide it under enough armor it could he argued to be a magical artifact.

also the main problem with guns isn't the manufacture of the gun itself but the creation of stable and consistent supply lines to keep them ready to use with gunpowder and projectiles, that's simply not doable with the nomadic and fickle hordes of chaos.

If I made a "Four horsemen of the apocalypse" unit of Chosen Chaos knights, which chaos god would fit best with each archetype?

White horse/Conquest (no, not 'pestilence' as that is a much later interpretation)

Red horse/War

Black horse/Famine

Pale horse/Death

I think:
Conquest = Slaanesh (fits the idea of an affluent and proud, conquering ruler. Also this is the only rider who has a bow rather than a melee weapon, suggesting a degree of refinement or subtlety)

War = Khorne (rather obvious here, khorne is the most martial god, and the horse is already a red horse)

Famine = Tzeentch (the actual text around this figure mentions that goods would rise to high prices, implying a theme of a harsh bargain on the background of events being engineered by a puppeteering power. also, the rider bears a pair of weighing scales, which feels rather tzeentchy - more prone to measuring/considering/manipulating things than direct action).

Death = Nurgle (nurgle is ultimately a death god, feeding on the energies of mortals at the despair they feel towards decay and the winding down of all things to their end, whereas his worshippers embrace the inevitable).

The only real alternative I see might be to switch Conquest and Famine respectively to be Tzeentch (again noting themes of subtlety and indirect action noting weapon choice) and Slaanesh (the text also says "but do not damage the oil and the wine" which might imply a theme of the wealthy and affluent lording it over those who cannot even afford basic food, and of course gluttony and selfishness are right up slaanesh's alley) .

Before Cathay and the secondaries and a few powergamers made their nest here this thread was constantly derailed by a guy who would post historical diorama and try to pass them off as warhammer, while also shittalking every sculpt that wasn't a Perry sculpt. For months. Eventually it stopped working to get a rise, but then he crashed out after revealing he not only doesn't play games because irl people don't put up with his shit, he would have to beg his wife to ever have an opponent while she hated every part of it. Hence all those diorama were really just a lonely sad man's attempt to have a modicum of a game alone in his basement. He still tries to jump in and shitpost overly angsty stuff to inflame arguments but the truth is most the newfags here are AoS/secondaries so there's already a stream of drivel to drown him out. I think the C7 team does think each bookline has its own art direction.
You can see that from interviews when C7 staffers were asked to justify TOW RPGs' existence, and one was the different art direction for the book compared to WFRP, an argument that falls flat when 60% of the player guide is just reused from different WFRP editions.

Funnily the 4e core book has almost all the worst art, a lot of the supplements actually look quite nice. But overall it's very hit or miss, I agree. There's one artist in particular who likes to draw fat, toad-like and vaguely asiatic looking women which are all over the character art. It's sort of a strange choice. Characters (especially background ones) being sort of ugly and creepy looking is definitely part of WFRP's style, but some of these ones are just really unpleasant to look at and don't make a lot of sense to me.

The Warhammer justification for it would probably be how nagash's spell of undeath must have killed so much wildlife and plantlife that all the other humans that weren't part of nehekara but just in its vicinity must have been forced to migrate, resulting in a huge exodus of southlander tribes that must have logically settled where everyone else found a safe enough spot too, the coasts of araby for whoever was north enough, the plain of tuskers for the rest, and I guess some might have dared the lizard jungles, there's no real suggestion for it, but I would consider it possible if not likely that the slann and skinks of the southlands might have integrated some of these fleeing people as vassals, allowed to live in the relative vicinity of their temple cities, since they're severely lacking in saurian warriors compared to their lustrian cousins, and some human shields could be useful.

As far as I personally understand it, Vampires and Liches retain their soul, but the first have to pay with eternal bloodthirst, and the second with eternal decaying of their body.
They're both experiments of dhar from the Mortuary Cult gone wrong in different ways.

Incest is taboo in mankind for health reasons due to a bunch of recessive genetic disorders and anthropology 4chan is too retarded to understand. TLDR humans had a near extinction event at some point in the recent past, followed by lots of incest, and now BxS incest or repeated cousin incest produces retards and cripples at high rates. Incest is common and safe for several generations at a time among many other animals, like cattle or dogs, and takes like 6 generations to produce an abomination like the modern pug.

They're a pretty good anvil unit right now with the changes, and on a similar vein, as bad in general as the changes were for Bretts (and they definitely were) Foot Knights with Great Weapons get a MASSIVE glowup now.

>Furious Charge gives them effectively 2 ranks worth of attacks.
>Can be Armour 3+ 5++ when charged.
>If they win the combat and force a fall back in good order they can switch to Great Weapons, and get their Furious charge bonus again.

Man, you kind of don't want to actually win a combat with infantry and force a fall back in good order as you'll lose an entire rank's worth of attacks, do you? Dwarf players probably only want to use Shieldwall now against Cavalry, and only use Stubborn against infantry. Since an Infantry unit that persues a Fall Back in Good Order is probably going to lose that combat. Jesus that's dumb.

Unlike 40k, which is a post-cum economy, whfb is a rape based one.

That would make it rape neutral, there's no sexual intent. Staking someone vlad style isn't sodomy, mutilating a body for pain isn't inherently rape either. For all intents and purpose orcs and gobbos are asexual and regard other races as things to be killed or enslaved or ate.

For chaos I have made a HUGE roster (pic related is one part of it) of every unit I would ever want across unidivided and each god and work out their basic cost (which for regimental units leaves room for the addition of magical standards and upgrades for the champion). I then proceed to choose from this roster whatever I feel like using. This approach is valuable for small armies as it allows room for you to change models between games and doesnt leave you fucked should point changes occur. Only the 'available' units you have is the limit.

I also dotn have every unit on there and probably wont have them anytime soon, but I can quickly make a list from what I have.

Anonymous No.95997265 [Report]
>>95997170
before removing models though:
>If a unit with this special rule loses a round of combat, it loses one additional Wound for every combat result point by which it lost. These Wounds are lost after combat results have been calculated but before Break tests are made. If an Unstable unit contains any Unstable characters, allocate wounds to the unit until each model has been allocated one wound. Any remaining wounds are divided as equally as possible between the character(s) and the unit.
then "crumble
>In addition, at the end of the turn where the Hierophant dies and at start of each turn afterwards, all Nehekharan Undead must make Leadership saves; failing means the unit takes a number of wounds equal to the difference between the roll and their Leadership score
Then Regen says
Change the rule as follows:
‘Immediately after a Wound is lost, but before models with
zero Wounds remaining are removed from play, a model with
this special rule may make a ‘Regeneration save’ roll by rolling
a D6 and comparing the result to its ‘Regeneration value’ ,
shown in brackets after the name of this special rule (shown
here as ‘X+’). If the Regeneration save roll equals or exceeds
the model’s Regeneration value, the lost Wound is recovered,
but is still counted for the purposes of calculating the
combat result. Rules that affect armour values do not affect
Regeneration values unless stated otherwise.’
So RAW I think its pretty clear but as for RAI Im not sold. It should be noted when crumbling almost all undead lose their regen saves anyways so this will matter for break tests - if Ihave a +5 combat, you can roll regen for those 5 but I still get +5 before the (usually autopassed) break test
This seems more or less logical, retarded or not

Yeah, but before the old combo was you used Stubborn and then you opted to use Shieldwall in combination. So you'd only ever take a step-back. Now it's more advantageous to just fall back in good order against Infantry as it shuts off their ability to fight in 2 ranks for a paltry initiative bonus.
