I don't know what it is about Black Blade Kindred, but he's very good at being a dick even if you haven't been to the top of the castle yet.

>but the contents of most Shifting Earth areas are static, so aside from rot woods it's the same on rails day 2 every time
Really hope we get more map variety in a future update.
