But if From is smart (they are not) then duo’s will be only selectable using password matchmaking or friend invites. Or will auto switch to duo if random matchmaking cannot find a third after a certain duration of trying. If they do that, then there will be almost no effect on random matchmaking, but pre-made groups will have a much better time.

But if they let you search for random matchmaking specifically duo’s or trio’s and it’s completly seperate ques, then yeah, that’s gonna hurt game.

As things are now Revenant is kind of just worse Recluse. I'd bump up her summons hp scaling in the mid and late game.
Guardian really needs to be able to engage guard mode without losing a big chunk of stamina. His roll shouldn't be ass either, guy is meant to be defensive but he has only one good defensive option.

Rev is fucking AWFUL. Her entire kit is based around killing trash mobs and being shit at bosses in a game where trash mobs barely matter and bosses are everything. Even camp bosses are typically too much for her summons to handle without eating shit. Literally the only thing she has going for her is S FAI which just makes her a worse Recluse, who not only has S FAI as well but also gets S INT on top of that AND built in FP sustain to actually allow her to use those S magic ranks more than a couple of times per fight without having to guzzle starlight shards.

She doesn't have damage parity with Recluse though, because Recluse literally never has to stop casting spells. Recluse can literally go entire games without ever having to engage in melee.
You're still going to want to use starlight shards if your fp dips very low against big bosses, but the constant FP regen from cocktail gives you a significant amount of extra FP to work with and cocktail spells themselves are also very strong in addition to being FP free, and that's an aspect Revenant lacks entirely and her guaranteed to die to literally any AoE summons absolutely do not make up for it.
It's also much easier to get good damage sorceries than it is to get good damage incantations, and Recluse can use both anyway.
Recluse also has significantly better survivability, since unlike Rev she never has to take her D VIG into melee and she has an incredible dodge with huge range and a massive amount of iframes on top of that.

She's nowhere near worst damage and she doesn't rely on her invocs at all in groups. Not to mention that she actually brings useful utility/buffs to the team.

She gets 3 summons which will take aggro enough to take the heat off you so you can beat bosses without being targeted except of course for Nightlords but in Nightlord fights, the summons heal pretty fast so you should always have one ready to go when the others are down. Also starlight shards are so plentiful you never run out, they're in rises and churches and the merchants and merchant towns. If you're up against the bugs or anything weak to fire, you can find seals very easily and most will have at least Black Flame or if you get lucky, Burn O Flame/Flame of Frenzy which will kill fire-weak bosses in 10 seconds. Lightning-weak bosses are slower to kill but Lightning Spear works well enough. Source: I play Revenant frequently and this is my own personal experience

The real problem with incants is spell distribution.

With poor HP and no ability to defend themselves they're only going to hold aggro for a few seconds, assuming they don't just get swept off the board by an AoE that wasn't even directed at them. The problem with this is that with your summons dead you're now playing a character that effectively has no special ability in addition to being bad at everything.

Ruined churches take barely any time to get the seals from, and most will have a box to take a high chance evergaol key from so it's really in any team's best interest to go to them. If they're super out of the way like some will be in the extreme corners then sure, don't go to those. Rev's ult is a worse reviving tool because your teammates can go down as soon as they get on their feet if the boss happens to attack them when they're getting up, Guardian's ult provides a window of invulnerability if you hold down the button. Rev also loses HP with the "heal teammates" relic, Guardian's ult with relic heals all 3 players.

An early update added pity revives on night bosses, higher rune payouts, and wending graces from merchants for solo to compensate the lack of allies.

Solo is going to be easier for everyone unless you get someone amazing as in your random trio.
Enemy health is scaled down, rune gain is scaled up.
You get a free revive on every night boss and the stores get guaranteed a few good items like an extra revive.
Meaning you can go into the Nightlord fight with at least 3 revives and more if you get lucky.
Enemy stance is also lower than in co-op so you can much more consistently trigger stance breaks and get damage off crits.

If you struggle with the standard mechanics, you can just run solo Ironeye and that simplifies them notably.

ghostflame explosion doesn't do that much damage either, Guardian's ult also does some damage (without relics even) but it's not meant to be used as a damage dealing tool.

I'd say the only clear advantage Rev's ult has over Guardian's is that your teammates can be a bit separated and still get revived whereas for Guardian's ult, your teammates need to be a bit near each other for the full effect, but that's almost never a problem if the team sticks together instead of running all in different directions the entire fight.

Guardian ain't that bad. It's all about stamina management since everything he's good at is tied to it. You also need a solid relic for him. The reflect ability is a must, and you definitely want "each successive attack recovers stamina" because it works with his shield guard + reflect, which helps with that stamina drain while blocking

Play Revenant or Recluse and pray for Frenzied Flame incantations.
Frenzied Burst, the laser beam, practically never misses and hits like a freight train.
Alternatively, spam either of the bombardment incants.
Or play Iron Eye and spam triple shots—quema ropa—with a flame bow.
Crater is perfect for this since there are bountiful fire-biased drops and the legendary enhancement.

You get a buff to rune rates so that part of the loot is accounted for.
Also time to kill solo really isn't that bad as you do notably more damage.
Weapon drop and weapon passives are a bit more complicated because sure as a team you have more chances for drops.
But you also need much more good drops to have comparable damage to a few good weapon passives.

So I feel its more that teams can perform better with good overworld scavenging to maximise drops.
But solo is much more forgivable with how much you need to for a comparable amount of damage.
