People absolutely discussed the lore for Sinful Spoils cards. But also Snake Eye was font and center gameplay-wise despite being the least impactful to the story aside from Morganite, and it was a super unpopular deck from a gameplay standpoint, only being played for how overwhelmingly strong it was. And it was too hard to make out what was actually going on in the Sinful Spoil cards until Konami told us.
Now Visas, that's a recent lore nobody gave a SHIT about. All you get is "why are there kashtira versions of the other cards?". And "wtf is even going on in this story anyway? Oh, that's lame.".
And old multi-archetype storylines suck because they're mostly nothing but villain of the week+hero of the week. World Legacy is OK but there isn't a lot of character development given to them. Duel Terminal starts to get interesting 90% of the way through but has a million worthless archetypes bloating it up.
