Contrary to incel popular belief it's much more common to see below average men dating out of their league than the reverse. The only instances I've see an unattractive woman dating up is online which shows how rare it is.

You know you're unattractive so moids won't even dare look at you

But you also know that the average guy does not approach women for fear of rejection but you know that you're not the type of woman they have in mind so approaching them/talking first as an ugly woman would make them feel insulted

I don't even bother interacting with a male because they'll just reject me/be disgusted by me based on my looks
