Total retard here 1st time tinkering in my PC. I bought a new WD Black Gen4 SN850X NVMe 4TB SSD to my ROG Strix B550-F gaming wifi motherboard. I removed the heatsink that was already screwed in the motherboard and I put the SSD in the socket, it clicked. So now I have to simply put the heatsink over it and screw it over the SSD(pic related the top of the pic is the underside of the heatsink, I peeled a tape that was over the white foam because it said REMOVE)? Is it a problem if the heatsink is a lot longer than the SSD? After physically installing the SSD, is it good to Go? Do I need to do any kind of formating or installation on the computer after?
