My suggestion is, just keep playing it till you reach your "breakthrough" moments. I'm sure you could watch some youtube vids explaining where you need to go and what you need to do, but you could also just fuck around with the game and stumble into the good shit.

Some suggestions: Build up and max enhance 'The Last Dagger', build Serena, make sure you are in the air when you use her buff ability, do void erosions and.... there's probably some other shit I could say that would help but I am forgetting right now.

But the Last Dagger and Serena are the current meta. Restored Relic seems to be the best room clearing weapon as well, I'd invest into that.
