2. Woman in the Dunes, Kobo Abe (I've read Face of Another, which is also great, but I still have fond memories for Woman in the Dunes so it stays here)
3. Satantango, Laszlo Krasznahorkai
4. Journey to the End of the Night, L-F Celine
5. Tonka, Robert Musil (I've read most of his writings, I love the man but even though Tonka is just a short story/novella it's the closest to my heart)
6. Life of a Stupid Man, Ryu Akutagawa
7. Venus in Furs, Leo von Sacher-Masoch
8. The Slynx, Tatiana Tolstaya
9. The Prince, Housang Golshiri
10. A sorrow beyond dreams, Peter Handke

Special mention to The God of Small Things by Arundathi Roy.

I'm almost certain that I have an eclectic list of favorites but among everything I've read up until now, these have stayed the most with me.
