So this SOUNDS good, but it could mean so little when you actually think about it
What are the odds the pieces will actually be recolourable? You might be stuck with the DA champion helmet in green, no matter how much you want it for one of their successor chapters (or god forbid you want to use it fully freely)
It could even be that you effectively get the skin on a few other classes (e.g. the salamander champion can now be applied to tactical but also you like, lose the cape or something) with no actual customization.
I didn't even necessarily want the champion skin pieces to be usable outside their original classes, all I cared about was that they could be recoloured and mixed with existing pieces. I know that's a lot to ask from one guy trying to program an entire game but the only thing worse than them having made champion skins so unusable would be them relenting a bit, failing to make the change meaningful, and then thinking they've done a good job. They really haven't with much so far.
