The mini game really sucks, but once you figure out the best strategy is to just beta skill spam it gets much easier
But for a more in-depth explanation
>equip the beta skill related equipment in all three slots, attack speed or others that increase your regular damage work too
>for the combo attack use the left one in the skill tree, not the right one because that one has a slower animation and you want to dish out full combos quickly for the beta skill energy you gain on the last hit
>max out the right beta skill in the skill tree (I think that's the strongest one, but I also haven't really tested the others much)
>max out the bottom burst skill in the skill tree (the other ones are useless since they're slow and knock the bosses further away from you)
>during the fight you have to figure out the attack pattern of a boss and check during which windows you can do full combo attacks to gain beta skill energy
>whenever the boss attacks parry it for more beta skill energy
>dodge the yellow/blue/purple attacks correctly
>use the bottom burst skill whenever available
>as soon as your beta gauge is full just start using the right beta skill and chain it with its follow-up and then repeat until the boss is dead
>you're immune to any hits the boss dishes out while you use beta skills so no more need to parry or dodge anything
>if the retribution prompt shows up do a regular attack to trigger it since the boss is immune to damage anyway while the prompt is showing
>at around half HP every boss does some kinda desperation move that will briefly make them immune to damage so you can pause your beta skill spam and dodge that attack or spam through it, but you could run out of beta skill energy depending on rng
That's about it I think. There's also an rng mechanic where with the beta skill armor thing you sometimes won't use up beta energy, which makes it technically possible to start beta skill spamming as soon as one charge is available, but it's unreliable
