for me its the speed of key registry. If you've been used to the old-style, membrane-type keyboards, you would understand how crispy mechanical (and even hall-effect sensor) keyboards are today. Also remember, not all of us just keep our PC at home. Myself for instance- I travel to different countries constantly and primarily use a powerful laptop for everything. So having a thin, compact, wireless, reliable 60% keyboard is something I cherish.

if you do gaming, writing or use a keyboard often- a tactile and swift keyboard is enjoyable. Especially for gaming, where the slightest key press would be preferred for fast-paced competitive games. Now, if all you do is basic web-surfing or simple emails- it isn't for you. For us who constantly chat, write, game, use macros for certain apps, travel- its almost a necessity.
