There's a new lottery in town for Switch gamers, and it's dropping $400 on a Switch OLED or $500 on a Switch 2 and getting a potato! If your Switch (all Switch 2's are affected currently) has SK Hynix EMMC it will succumb to the same fate as SK Hynix EMMCs in the Wii U which are notorious for failure. Thankfully it's been fixed in the Wii U with a mod, but Switch OLED and Switch 2 require re-programming to repair corrupt EMMC.
