Road to Wigan Pier, Homage to Catalonia and Down-and-Out in Paris and London are some of the best books I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
Even if you're a staunch right-winger with no intent of ever having your views influenced, even by the greatest political thinker of the 20th century, they're still 100% worth reading, they're full of wit and humor and you can always choose to just take in Orwell's criticism of Socialism and Socialists (Which ring as true, or truer, now than they did 100 years ago) and leave the rest.
