I thought I wanted to play Conquest for the longest time, but actually tried playing it and got about 5 chapters in before I got really sick of the anime stereotype plot and the horrific writing. Enemies seem to hit pretty hard but I'm assuming it's just because you have to really take advantage of the newer systems like pair up. Does it actually get better?

I played 6/7/8/Shadow Dragon/Awakening, and part of Radiant Dawn.
