Steven Universe heavily influenced the entire western industry to embrace LGBT themes/messages and that you don't need to have good action themes nor writing as long you pander to shippers and character drama. You can clearly see this with the later seasons of Adventure Time or shows like Owl House or Amiphibia. Even your dear IDW Sonic comic takes heavy inspiration from this, especially when it has occasionally done references and easter eggs to Steven Universe.
Sonic.exe is trying to stop this from happening.
