So I've also invested a lot of time in the Fire Emblem bubble and this was a constant point of argument. I know this is going to sound really hypocritical of me given how often I talk about lore since starting this series: the majority of the people who complain about this, just want an story they can play. They're the ones who watch a YouTube video on the lore of X game and then consider themselves an expert on the game or, God forbid, the series. I love lore in games. But I'm not going to give a single, solitary fuck about your story or narrative if the actual game it's attached to sucks. It's why when an NPC says
>there's rumors about people going missing in that cave over there and that's why the knights have increased security
The first thing I'm going to do is find that cave over there and see what happens. Or if a story relevant character remarks on a thing they were looking for? Welcome to the party dude I've never used once, let's see if the devs remembered what your motivations were. In XC2 I like how when you switch in Agate while fighting an insect, instead of her usual battle cry, she'll freak out because she hates bugs.

And I really think this is why I hate the type of people in your screenshot. The game should justify the story, not the other way around.
