Grombar is locked out of expansion into Escann by both me and Gawed. Corvuria is locked out of expansion by Ravenmarch, their and mine ally. Gawed has an alliance with one of the nations in Escann, but my allies are well positioned to strike 'em. The only foreign power that has really expanded into Escann is Arbaran. They're also my ally and part of the empire, so... eh, will see how it goes.

I was under the impression that half-Orcs were human enough to be tolerated across Escann. Besides, didn't Bluetusk get tortured by the Bladebreakers for being a Half-Orc at one point, or did I misread that?

Given the other things ITT, I can only conclude that the devs really really like to make nations that will tolerate "strong and savage" races (as they're described by the game itself) for no apparent reason other than "but muh multiculturalism good". A shame, but not much one can do.
