I won't speak for the people who sperg out over it, but most knives in that price range are at best gucci gear, and at worst some art deco bullshit that looks kinda gay. It's kinda hard to justify those sort of prices with blade steel, heat treat, and QC alone, especially these days. Even chinese knives are getting kinda good, it's a little concerning honestly
Granted, all of this is coming from someone who's only spent over $100 before shipping on a knife once, and that was on a kabar, so higher end shit has just never interested me enough to warrant dropping half a check on one. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to atleast a slightly better knife than gas station quality. You don't need to spend a shitload of money on it, hell, you could probably get a decent one for under $50. Then, if you learn how to sharpen and don't break it or let it rust, you'll have a knife for life that you can give to your kid or grandkid. I have several knives from my great-grandfathers, cause those dudes had taste
