I watched some of his stream and his newest video. He's definitely flip flopping a bit, I don't blame him though, considering this game is his career. I agree with him on one thing, is that they need to walk back on the decision of not allowing you to liquefy cards until you have 3 copies of.

I've never played SV1, but my experience with the SV2 economy so far is that it is actually okay, good even, BUT only if you start like right now. If you are coming into the game 3 sets from now (which is only in 4 months), you are just royally fucked. There are going to be 4 different expansions you can pull on, and you are never going to be able to make a deck you want, or even a deck at all, even if you pay like $100. This is very unhealthy for new players, and the game with no new players is a dead game.

I know this game has a lot of weird collabs and promotion to bring in the players, but if they can't even create one deck they won't stay for more than one day.

I can't even craft a roach deck (no leggo btw) because I just can't get enough vials
