nta but yeah these balance changes are in the wrong direction, again. Ivy's kit is one of the best in the game, so icefrog has to pick what stays and what goes, and the stuff staying isn't nearly as fun.
>Ivy has large map presence due to ult
>Grenade can quickly clear camps, shove waves, do damage to objectives
>Grenade does great damage when upgraded
>Ult has a ministun that has a guaranteed follow up with a second statue stun, all on top of grenade
>watcher's covenant double dips on healing, e.g. healing nova, multiplicative with healing booster
>statue can behave as i-frames to dodge abilities, can be used to shut down some ults in the game if used well
>statue gives large heal when upgraded
So if Ivy has a great gun, then the hero's way too powerful. But, what is actually fun, is the gun build. Moving at full speed feels great, bullet lifesteal natively feels great, mag-dumping feels great. Getting kills by landing your shots feels great. Shoving waves feels boring, afk farming feels boring, buying lots of support items feels boring.
We should remind ourselves that support as a role in Dota2 was something literally no one wanted to do, to the point where Valve was forced to add role-tokens to force players to take turns being ward bitch. Deadlock is in a position to do away with the old support/carry dynamic, and have every hero be somewhat both. People clearly find that more fun, so pic related Ivy gun nerfs are moving the game in the wrong direction. Why not nerf her ultimate so that it doesn't drop a bomb at all, preventing the permastun high damage wombo combo? You'd be removing oppressive CC whilst letting people build gun, much more fun
