in reality "le seasoning" is for preventing corrosion. A bare metal cast iron or carbon steel pan is perfectly non stick if you do the slosh with oil on high heat thing you described.

I scrub my shit with soap and a stainless steel sponge after every use and it never rusts and nothing sticks.
