SHAFT doing what it does best: abstracted and expressive animation. girls are cute. jokes are funny. burger does a good job of twisting the knife narratively (and had a big hand in anime-only rewrites?) and shaft did the work to elevate the source material.

characters are excellent, animation is excellent. the people who wanted YKK s2 from Cygames are misguided. most people who hate the tanukis clearly have no idea what the show is about.

this far up purely on animation quality. really wish Yuru Camp had this level of animation.

love the story, massively disappointed in the animation quality. i think a bunch of the animators who worked on s1 got tied up with Puniru which is something of a comfort but leaves this with few of the visual charms and flourishes of s1

fun but uneven. probably an issue in the source material that took too much time to iron out for the adaptation

GQuuuuuuuX: enjoyed what i watched. reading the endless barrage of takes basically everywhere anime related was clouding my judgement more than i like so i paused, filtered everything, and am starting fresh in a month or so.

damn solid season heading into what is shaping up to be another damn solid season. seems to be more bitchin and moanin about trivial shit this season than the past few. its hard for me to imagine a more juvenile and meritless complaint than "this is not what i was expecting"
