I read somewhere that the reason a lot of female cartoon characters used to wear crop tops is because it's a way of portraying her femininity and sexuality without being explicit or adult. I don't disagree, and I think that a lot of people end up doing this unconsciously. I guess the same thing now goes for the few guys who get depicted with one. It was/is a meme that almost every OC here has been depicted wearing a crop top. I once traced someone else's artwork to make a mockup of Alex's fantasy outfit, pictured here. I haven't done the same for his cyberpunk outfit because I feel like the same drawing is not suitable for it.

>It is a bit flamboyant, but not outright gay. It could attract some women in a get-up like that
It might end up pulling some guys but from watching women on Twitter and Tiktok thirst over K-Pop idols, Sai from Naruto, and Aether, it wouldn't surprise me if such could be sexy to women as well. Cause again, he's certainly got the body for it.
>but it really does give the aura of someone who really wants others to know he is available for sex.
heh, I used to bother an old user here for the same thing. I don't disagree, and he is quite available, though such is either implied or shown offscreen in "fade to black" moments. The lore justification in the fantasy AU is that it's a cultural thing where rogues are daring you to try and scratch their exposed parts, and having a toned stomach and tight waist without any scars means you're daring and skillful. It's also an open secret that rogues will often get their scars removed or hidden with magic so as to keep their image. If you're wearing the light armor that's typical in most campaigns, then you're either a newbie, not very brave, or shit has really hit the fan and you need every bit of protection that you can get. And for the Cyberpunk AU people have shields like the ones from Dune which is why people wear revealing clothing without fear
