I will stand my ground against this type of criticism.
The game made a deliberate design choice of having you listen to the sounds of nature and the pal cries as a sonar to alert you of the pals nearby, including the ones you dont see behind you. It was also deliberate that music only plays during combat making music an aggro alert. Special pals, like luckies and predators are also first detected by a sound signal aura. So sound is very much a game mechanic.
The game already has a rich soundtrack, especially for an indie - it does not need constant music playing.
