Not really, we have a pretty good idea. The problem is the singularity.
That happens because the math used to describe gravity shits itself when it reaches a certain point. Doesn't mean there is an actual singularity, it means that is the limit of what einstein's equations can describe, and you probably need a unified field theory to really answer that.
