This has never been more true. It's quite literally impossible for young people today to "get". They might laugh at a blatant joke or gag, but they'll never get it, just like we'll never get the massive impact M*A*S*H had on people during the height of the Vietnam war and post-war life. I get the jokes, but I'll never fully get the purpose, and that's a good thing, capturing the cultural zeitgeist of life as it happens takes far greater talent than just making what's popular, churning out nostalgia bait, or making some stupid misery porn wankfest for literal retarded women. Finger truly on the pulse instead of reading it from the machine, as it were.
