From what I've read of communism there ideally wouldn't be tax in the first place because there would be no currency, you supposedly just work and divvy up the results of everyone's collective effort among the population. It's when you introduce currency or the temptation of personal gain that it gets convoluted and it's impossible to maintain while surrounding countries maintain capitalist workings, since it tempts those of the collective to be bribed for personal gain or leave altogether. Communism only works in a smaller homogeneous vacuum, it's essentially a nuclear family with attempted enforcing on a larger scale but that's impossible to maintain, most people don't give a shit about extended family they never see so they fuck each other over eventually. The irony is commies don't see how them fucking over the nuclear family for liberal and socialist idealism, kneecaps any possibility of a commune like system working out.
