Is it because FF7shitbirth won zero relevant game awards and they're mad that E33 will win GOTY by a landslide and stand proudly as the face of the JRPG genre?
But I'm willing to entertain you FF7fag, and most importantly enlighten you.
Nobody gives a shit about Aerith's death or any of the FF7 main cast. The average player cannot take those characters seriously because of how ridiculous the story is. Does Red XIII ever say something interesting? Tell me about Cid Highwind, what is his contribution to the narrative and the dynamic of the party? Is Vincent anything more than a cool character design?
Meanwhile, everybody LOVES everything about Gustave and want MORE Gustave. What makes his death so gripping and tragic is the fact that it happened so early, with no warning, before he could reach his full potential and achieve anything meaningful. For his death to be so impactful for the player, it had to happen this way. Aerith's death is less of a tragedy since it was a step that lead to the lifestream saving the planet in the end, she's FF7 Jesus, her death allowed her to reach new heights and the full potential of her character. Did anybody finish FF7 desperately wishing Aerith could have had more moments with the rest of party? I don't think so, but for Gustave hell yeah people did.
