I beat that piece of shit with the low rank armor and weapon that the game gives you at the beginning, no upgrades of ANY kind and without making a single potion (The Palico is so broken that you don't even need to use healing items) HR Arkveld took me like 20 minutes or something with that gear, absolutely embarrassing, MonHun is dead.
