Conspiracy theory: Truthear got tips on tuning from some random dude, as mentioned in previous threads, but they didn't have time to totally rework the IEM. Whatever bandaid fix they came up with produced a FR anomaly and they specifically moved that blip to 8K because that's where most people put the insertion depth peak on squig so smoothing would hide the issue.
