Ah, I never really noticed this before, but a purer yellow looks poor when the secondary color is white. Just look at poor Zooey here. Yellow blends in with white, so she needs a third color (her clothing) to give her body and shape more definition. As opposed to Tails, whose hues are color-balanced much better that you can tell much more easily where his color lines are. His close-to-amber tone is a surprisingly tricky color in the Sonic cast. I wonder if brown was chosen in early western material because it was just simpler for them to contrast with white.
