I disagree, that is the truly hard part. I found it was not hard to stay sober one I finally did quit. After a couple weeks the urge is completely gone.

Yes, one of the other things that got my attention was my ability to recall simple words began to diminish. I would search for mundane words in a sentence. This still plagues me to this day.
