The internet was great when it *could only be accessed by high-IQ dedicated people with the motivation to go out of their way to learn computers*. Yes they were mostly white, but a whole flood of dumbfuck balls stupid suburban whitoids were also part of the plague that ruined it.

Few people here are probably old enough to remember how difficult it really was to get online back in the day, when your computer's operating system itself supported no such thing and you needed to acquire third-party PPP/SLIP protocol software.. which naturally you couldn't download because *you weren't online*. So you either had to get it from someone's dialup BBS (which were awesome but beyond the scope of this post) or find a floppy disk somewhere from some underground computer store or a photocopied newsprint software catalog.
