Your dumb ass should be already more than familiar enough with the console(s) you want to focus on emulating and the form factor you want to play them in. You self-confessing that you rely on the opinions of others is fucking pathetic.
For example, myself, wanted something like the RG28XX/MagicX 2.8 inch screen horizontals to play some N64 and DreamCast on, had so since 2022 or so. All I needed to know were their specs to know if they could do what I wanted to or not, got the experience I expected with both the RG28XX and the MagicX Mini Zero 28 (basically the RG28XX with better shoulder buttons and additional analog sticks. The RG28XX d-pad works for a lot of 3D titles, but mostly ones like Crazy Taxi. It does NOT work well for games like Sonic Adventure 2).
