Taiwan has had their own ASMs long before that. Currently China is waiting for the US to be distracted before they invade. It's worth noting that not too soon after the Israel-Iran war flopped China came out publicly to say that they won't let Russia lose the Ukraine war, ie they will give Russia weapons in the hopes that it would draw the US in.
