a visual novel that IS gay. I played this recently for... um... game dev research purposes and it was crazy how shit it was and yet sold decently. Was looking on VNDB and there's really no trap VNs (disregarding the abhorrent 3DCG and AI ones).

Just make a bog standard jap style eroge and you'd for sure have a market. Keep it light, no weird politics or culture shit, and make good appealing art and multiple sex scenes and it will sell. Hell picrel only had 2 short unvoiced scenes per "girl" (with one of them being more foreplay-ish, so really one one scene per girl) and people still bought it. Looks like the bar is set low for WEGs and somehow no one's really serving this niche.
Going to grind art and draw some delicious traps to hopefully make one one day.
