When he wasn't feeding Rashid Shaheed with perfectly placed bombs, the dashing former 2nd-round pick took time to feed families in need during the holiday season. On December 21st, 2024, Derek and Heather Carr hosted a Christmas dinner at a Salvation Army in New Orleans.
Nine families were invited, and they were all showered with Christmas gifts after their tummies were filled. The biggest surprise would come last of all, when the Carrs handed each parent a small box containing $5,000 cash (see pic related of androgynous person from the event).
