Different anon, but it's one of the many reasons companies like Comcast routinely get rated as the most hated companies in the country. It's only one or two that still have data caps, and they do it to push their customers to a more expensive plan that doesn't cap them. The problem's further compounded because there's usually only a sole internet provider in the area (unless you can figure out how to go satellite), so they've got little competition with over how they set prices.
