I've been trying to reach out again to someone I met from this board I was an asshole to and gave up on. I wrote a letter explaining my actions. In it, I admit that it was entirely my fault for being selfish and lacking the willpower I needed to put myself back on track. Instead, I chose to cope by telling myself it could have never been.
After I was forced to reflect on this, seek help and becoming aware of exactly where I went wrong in life, I realized it never had to go down like that. Not one bit of it was their fault. I know that the lesson I've learned will help the next time I meet someone important.
But. I haven't been able to send it to them.
If it's too late to fix things with you, I understand. Just let me have the closure. Please.
