So many of these stories just feel like they're written by insular, introverted people with no life experiences. The ONLY experience they can pull from is "MY CHILDHOOD" because they stopped developing their personalities in high school and probably did nothing but sit inside, draw, play video games, watch anime, go to college so they can draw, graduate and get a job so they can draw, then kept drawing.

Some of Pixar's best ideas are throwing out concepts and then later developing them while relating to their adulthood. Even though these movies have cute and goof moments, they felt mature because they were mature. Mr. Incredible going through a midlife crisis or Sully choosing a child over a career are objectively adult topics, but presented in such a way that kids can understand. That is SO much more difficult than presenting kiddie topics for kids to understand and trying to make it moderately enjoyable to the parents who take them to see the movie.

I'll be honest, they're simply not going to achieve this level of maturity if they keep with this cutesy blobby art style. Yes, it's a cute art style; I hate Turning Red's script but it does have good visuals and has nice texture work-- but presentation matters. And this shit looks like a pre-school show. You don't need to go back to photorealistic environments, but goodness, please try something else. This style rebrand is clearly not working.
