The story missions can be a bit on-rails and you'll definitely feel restricted sometimes but they're worth it in order to experience the story. Great characters and acting combined with a mostly great plot
The open world is NOT empty in the slightest. There are hundreds of random encounters and locations to find, along with tons of hunting and fishing and flower picking if you're into that shit.
Does anybody even know what "empty" means anymore? RDR2 and the last two Zelda games have ruined open world games for me with how well they do exploration.
