I don't think Toby would include it if it didn't have some truth to it. Kris was already hinted towards being weird and having violent tendencies, they own a knife for themselves, when Susie confronts them in the newest girl they're unfazed and even bite the apple themselves and laugh.
This whole dark world was MADE by Kris. The shadow mantle game is a game FOR Kris. A game to give Kris back what they want: Freedom. Everything about the shadow mantle game is supposed to tell us about who Kris is, I don't see why Eram is any different. They might be a little bitch about it, but they know shit. I don't see WHY we would brand Eram as a liar besides... them being a brat about it.

I have mixed agreements. I DO think the weird route is about self inserting, and trying to force ourselves into the story to make our choices matter, but the weird route specifically mimics glitches in the game, it is a mirror of breaking the game, of sequence breaking. There is even a scene where the game seems to be so completely fucked over by what we did it can't even generate a response when Susie asks what you and Noelle were talking about and the rain disappearing as the screen goes red. It is certainly about freedom as a player and wanting to be able to influence the narrative, but I also think TO do this, we break our immersion. By no longer being immersed in the story, in the prophecy, we are able to insert ourselves through glitches.
