IIRC my main issues with it were
>rune magic being too limited even with the upgrade, and the upgrade meaning you still had to carry a stupid book at all times and couldn't use a cool staff
>another reason you wouldn't be using a cool staff: sigil magic is just lame in general
>almost every worthwhile location is marked on the map, and the maps are actually not even that big, so instead of exploring and adventuring you're just following a checklist anyway
>you have absolutely no idea what any skill tree will do before you find the trainer, so you have to look them up to know where you want to go
Also fuck them for nerfing hobo camps while limiting you to one house before postgame, almost lost all my shit when I died in the DLC and skipped 3 days. Had to recover a backup save.

OW2 looks like it's at least letting you equip whatever in each hand, giving you a mule (explicitly not a mount), and doubling the quickslots, so that's some steps in the right direction. If they do it right it might be really good.
