I let my gf years ago borrow my car when she was learning how to drive. She took it on herself to try and perform an oil change. Used a fucking breaker bar to tighten the drain plug. It was a Mercedes with a top cartridge style oil filter and she managed to forcefully jam a spin on style filter meant for a Hyundai into the housing hard before realizing it wouldn't work. Literally had the bend and crush the thin metal exterior of the filter to get it in and it didn't click in her head that it was the wrong type until it was irreversibly stuck.
