There's something inherent in a people's genes that allows them to understand what is and isn't cute.

This drawing was made in 1735 in Japan. Imagine growing up in the 1600's post civil war Japan that was a horrifically violent period, and still being able to draw a really cute shark.

So what is wrong with Br*toids? why can't they design cute?
