When they are allowed to be funny they can do a fantastic job. After all people like Tezuka was inspired by stuff like Disney and Fleischer.
Western cartoons are so unfunny now and the only excuse is that "oh you grew up" meanwhile I can find some random show from the late 90s and 2000s and can still get a good laugh.
It's the faggots in charge and some of the artists they hire that are the problem.
