the gun does seem good, but I think its a very "situational" weapon for something this expensive. And its bad against the exact sort of thing a big expensive points sink is afraid of.
In effect its a battle cannon from ye olden times (except worse vs vehicles). Which isnt a bad weapon by any means, but a 30" battle cannon dual wielded is also not going to strike fear into those pesky lascannons homing in on your position.

15" is also not a whole lot. A unit can fairly reasonably cross that distance and charge you in its own turn. So its pretty damn high risk, and while you can obviously use its movement as a bit of a buffer to that, its not exactly the fastest thing, and with only 30" max range it does want to get closer to targets, certain units (heavy terminators?) can very comfortably take its big blasts for basically the entire game, forcing it to move and potentially expose itself.

Basically: My worry is that its a big expensive defensive unit, good for area denial and counter-punching someone advancing on you, but rather helpless if someone just sits back and shoots you or uses a land raider or whatever.
