Hung Aryan here, let me give you a bit of a breakdown on our wrestling scene. While we have both WWE and AEW on our local sports channels (with Hungarian dubbed commentary no less), the general population just can't look past the "fake fighting" aspect and dismisses it completely. It's pretty much a niche hobby here, but there were internet wrestling communities in the country as far back as the 90s and some of those guys eventually made a wrestling promotion called Hungarian Championship Wrestling. Started in 2010 by complete amateurs, it's still going strong to this day, regularly drawing a few hundred people for the live events. They have become pretty good actually, while I never really followed them, apparently they are one of the more legit promotions now in Europe, collaborating with other feds from countries like Austria and Poland. Some of their wrestlers even had WWE tryouts if I remember correctly. They are also featured on local sports channels from time to time, and they have a dojo too for training young talent.
